Black oxidation

Black oxide coating aims to oxidize stainless steel items where, due to very narrow tolerances, there would normally be no room for surface treatment. 

 

  • The layer thickness is approx. 0.5µ
  • Can be used as a substrate for paint, but then production must be stopped before waxing or oil treatment
  • Black oxidation is also used for items that must not transmit light reflection (AMS STD 595)

 

Black oxide coating is done according to MIL DTL 13924.


Quality test:

 

  • Salt spray test (ASTM B 117)
  • Color Comparison (AMS STD 595)
  • Gloss measurement

 

We will send the COC and test reports on request.


Our black oxide process is 3rd party approved, documentation can be forwarded uppon request.
